Giving Students Money Skills for Life
As part of our mission to promote financial wisdom to ALL GENerations, Allgen is hosting Money Cent$ Week at Discovery Church in June. Money Cent$ is an event designed to provide high school (8th grade – 12th grade) students an opportunity to develop critical lifelong financial skills.
What students can expect to get out of camp:
Students will come along side other peers to learn money principals in a fun and fresh way. Board Games, Minute-To-Win-It Challenges, “Dream Job” Research, A Day In The Life As An Adult, Graduation Ceremony to top it off! The list goes on. We want to provide a hands-on approach to learning about finances.
“My favorite part of Money Cent$ Camp was learning about mutual funds and how if you start investing early, you’ll earn up to millions of dollars at the end of your retirement.” – 2016 Money Cent$ Camp Student
What parents can expect to hear their students talking about at the dinner table:
Parents will have the confidence to know their students are learning how to build a budget, steer clear of credit card debt, save for their first car, understand how mutual funds and compound interest works, researching their dream job, participate in a real life “Living On My Own” simulation, and the list goes on!
We desire to provide a hands-on environment for students to learn about money management.
“Every night at dinner, it was the conversation about what they learned for the day; they were taking out calculators and trying to figure out interest rates, savings and compound interest.” -2016 Money Cent$ Camp Parent
